Volunteering: Food Pantry for Kosher and Immigrant Neighbors
The 10.27 Healing Partnership invites you to join us in service and in spirit to honor the eleven people who were killed in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018. We will build connections and bring light into our communities while uplifting their memories and legacies.
This program is currently at capacity for volunteers. Consider one of our other volunteering opportunities, such as caretaking of local Jewish cemeteries or building dental kits for those in need.
This volunteering program is in partnership with Jewish Family and Community Services of Greater Pittsburgh. JFCS provides comprehensive social services for both adults and children, including care for the immigrant and refugee community in Pittsburgh. We will be helping to restock JFCS’s Squirrel Hill Food Pantry with nutritious food. The JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry strives to include diverse food so that people who keep kosher households or who come from any cultural background can find comforting ingredients and meals that help them feel at home. We will be both stocking the shelves and creating welcoming baskets and cards for our neighbors from the international community.
This program will take place on October 26th from 11am-1pm at the JFCS Squirrel Hill Food Pantry.
