Volunteering: Pack Dental Care Kits for Those in Need
The 10.27 Healing Partnership invites you to join us in service and in spirit to honor the eleven people who were killed in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018. We will build connections and bring light into our communities while uplifting their memories and legacies.
This commemorative volunteering project is in partnership with the Catholic Charities Diocese of Pittsburgh. Catholic Charities provide healthcare, housing assistance and social services for all our neighbors, from senior citizens to refugees to the unhoused. This volunteering program remembers Dr. Rich Gottfried, who with his wife, Dr. Peg Durachko, volunteered his services as a dentist at Catholic Charities for many years. After he was killed in the synagogue shooting, Catholic Charities dedicated their dental clinic in his name.
During this program, volunteers will help package dental healthcare kits for Catholic Charities to disperse to those in need through their dental clinic and the Allegheny Outreach team. We will strive to pack 1,000 kits; join us to help us hit this goal!
This program will take place on Oct. 26th at 111 Blvd of the Allies from 9am-12pm. This program is open to all ages.
