We hope you had a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving andare settling into these earlywinter months. For us, as with many in our community, it was a busy fall filled with the Jewish holidays and commemoration.
Weare so grateful to the incredible number of community members and organizational partners who created meaningful programs this year and every year.
Wearecurrentlypreparingforourwinterandearlyspringprogramming. Weare putting in the work behind the scenes so that this community can be as well-supported as possible during the upcoming trial of the perpetrator of the synagogue shooting, due to begin in April 2023. You can anticipate programming that provides a calming space to learn useful self-care tools and events that bring us together as a loving and strong community. There will be education around what to expect and what you can do to be a supportive person for both yourself and others during this time.
The last few weeks have been difficult for many, as several mass violence and hate-based attacks have occurred across this country. We encourage everyone to look to your support systems, and to reach out to both loved ones and to the 10.27 Healing Partnership if you are seeking more resources.
Many people have recently asked us how to better respond to antisemitic language in ways that can be productive. Thank you to NPR for this thoughtful piece on that, andwe invite all of you to help us consider ways that we can be part of the solution. We encourage you to look towards the light and to the helpers—even as the nights grow longer, there is still much warmth and hope to be found all around us.
Yours,
MaggieFeinstein Director 10.27 Healing Partnership
