2025 Commemoration of the
Oct. 27, 2018 Pittsburgh  Synagogue Shooting

Welcome, Neighbor

Every year we join together through service and volunteering, through Torah study, and through a Commemoration Ceremony, to remember the eleven people who were killed on October 27th, 2018. We stand in solidarity with the survivors, the families of those who were killed, and all those who have been impacted by this act of hate-motivated violence. We stand united in grief and community.

We remember Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Dan Stein, Irving Younger, and Melvin Wax. May their memories be for a blessing.

Love like the Boys

David and Cecil Rosenthal, inseparable brothers known for their love for life, were among those taken too soon during the shooting. Family and friends referred to David and Cecil as ‘the boys’ because of their innocent, kind-hearted nature.
In memory of the boys, share random acts of kindness in their honor. A link below can direct you to purchase Love like the Boys clothing, the benefits from which go to Achieva, the agency that provided David and Cecil with services and support through their lifetimes.
