October 2024: Remember and Reflect, in Spirit and in Action

February 4, 2025  ·
Hello Friend,
Thank you for being a part of our community.

We join together annually to commemorate the eleven lives taken on Oct. 27, 2018. We gather to stand in solidarity with the families of those who were killed and the survivors of the shooting and to take steps to create a kinder world.

We remember and seek to honor those who were killed every day, but commemoration grants us space and time to reconnect and recommit to our roles in upholding their legacy. This year, we are honored to be joined by intergenerational community members who will be creating art in many forms for this year’s Commemoration Ceremony. Adults and youth of all ages have also registered to take part in collective action through commemorative volunteering at six different locations. During commemoration we can witness and be inspired by the ways our youth and community take on the mantle of remembrance and care. On the Hebrew yahrzeit of 18 Cheshvan, which falls on November 18 and 19 this year, we invite people to join together again to commemorate through the study of Jewish texts.

We hope for warmth and peace for all those grieving the eleven people who were killed on October 27th, 2018. May their memories be for a blessing.

In Solidarity,
Maggie Feinstein
