Welcome the month of Elul with Inspiration and Community

August 8, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Free

Please join the 10.27 Healing Partnership for our 3rd annual Rosh Chodesh Elul program, an event dedicated to helping community members prepare for the coming of the High Holy Days and anticipate the arrival of the 3rd commemoration of 10/27/18.  We invite you to come together on Sunday, August 8, from 2:30-5:00 at Temple Sinai in Squirrel Hill, for an afternoon of introspection, learning and growth.  A diverse group of community scholars and teachers will hold sessions inspiring participants to be awake, prepared and grounded as we head into this spiritual and reflective time.  Speakers include Eric Lidji, Rauh Jewish Archives, Sara Stock Mayo, Co-Leader of Kesher Pittsburgh, Cantor Julie Newman, President, Tiferet, Rabbi Doris Dyen,  and Deane Root, and Rabbi Moishe Mayir Vogel , Executive Director of the Aleph Institute. Children’s programing will be provided. There is no cost associated with this program and it is open to all who want to attend.

At the culmination of the afternoon, please join us and The Joint Jewish Education Program (J-JEP) at 5:15 on the stairs of the Sixth Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Forbes and Murray, for a community-wide sounding of the shofar. We encourage you to bring your own shofar so we can raise our voices together in welcoming the month of Elul.  (Don’t have a shofar? You’ll be announcing the calls!)Please contact Ranisa Davidson with questions: 412-339-5424 or rdavidson@1027healingpartnership.org.
