Preparing the Heart and Mind: Rosh Chodesh Elul

September 3, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Free

Join the 10.27 Healing Partnership and the JCC for a program to center and ground ourselves before the High Holidays and a Season of Hope at the JCC.

This year the High Holidays will take place in close proximity with both the commemoration of October 27th and the first year commemoration of October 7th. We hope this program will help us all to embrace all the different facets of this season, from sorrow to joy.

Program elements include trauma-informed yoga, sound bathing, and Jewish learning. Jewish learning teachers for this event include Rabbi Meyer of Temple Emanuel, Danielle Kranjec the Associate Vice President of Jewish Education at Hillel International., and Rabbi Hindy Felman, the new Director of the Center for Loving Kindness and Jewish Life at the JCC.

We invite Jewish Pittsburgh to join us for meditative wellness activities and Jewish learning designed to increase thoughtfulness, care, and introspection. We will end the program with a communal shofar blowing! Please bring your shofar if you have one.

This event take place from 5:30pm-7:30pm on September 3rd, 2024 on the third floor of the JCC in Squirrel Hill. This program is free and no JCC membership is required.
