Meditative Forest Walk Offering for those Impacted by Vereb Funeral Home and Eternity Pet Memorial

We invite anyone impacted by the treatment of their pets by Vereb Funeral Home and Eternity Pet Memorial to a gentle forest walk led by Shawn Fertitta and the 10.27 Healing Partnership. Participants will be invited to reflect on nature, to breathe deeply, and to immerse themselves in the forest. We hope this guided mindfulness program will allow participants a moment of reprieve as you go through this tumultuous process.
This program will not be a memorial service and we will not be scattering ashes. While a counselor will be available for those who would like to talk, this will also not be a group therapy session. The 10.27 Healing Partnership will be collecting and distributing information about further grief care groups at other organizations for any interested. This program is intended to support emotional openness and a reflective space for those grieving and looking for connection and peace.
The walk will be gentle, slow and non-strenuous, but some areas of Lower Frick Park may not be accessible to those utilizing wheelchairs.
We trust you to self-select into this program; we will not be screening whether or not those who are registered are directly impacted. We are asking participants to register so that we can approximate how many people to expect. We will limit the program to approximately 35 registrants.
The 10.27 Healing Partnership is Pittsburgh’s resiliency center that was founded after the Oct. 27th, 2018 synagogue shooting. We exist to support the families and survivors of the shooting as well as to provide comfort and care to those experiencing grief or collective trauma, to educate, and to foster healing community spaces.
