December 2025: A New Year

April 24, 2026  ·
“Let our New Year’s resolution be this: We will be there for one another as fellow members of humanity, in the finest sense of the word.”
— Göran Persson, former Prime Minister of Sweden

Hello Friend,

At the 10.27 Healing Partnership we are honored to be stepping into the New Year with our friends, community members, and neighbors, both new and old.

We’ve been delighted to welcome new participants to our programs, from wreath-making last week to our empathetic roleplaying games and weekly morning writing shares. We look forward to seeing more of you in 2026!

This year has also seen new relationships deepening and developing in our REACH program, where families and survivors of the October 27th synagogue shooting speak at schools and organizations about their lived experiences. In 2026 we look forward to continuing these connections, as well as spreading the word about this meaningful opportunity. If you’re interested in connecting with REACH and their commitment to education, the memories of their loved ones, and the prevention of hate, click here to learn more.

We are also grateful for the incredible people who have stayed with this mission and community over the years. To the members of the working groups who have carried forward community resiliency and recovery since the shooting in 2018, we have been honored to witness the ways in which you continue to honor the eleven victims, as well as the people from their families and congregations who love them. Your guidance for all of us is an immeasurable gift. In 2026 we will move forward while carrying the pain of ongoing acts of mass violence and antisemitism, wishing for a year in the future when no more communities will be forced to grieve more lives lost in this way.

In this new year I am committed to practicing compassion, a skill I view as foundational. When I see and acknowledge the dignity and worthiness of my neighbors, even when times are difficult, I am consistently surprised by how I then start to notice the beauty all around me. At the 10.27 Healing Partnership we are blessed to have so many people, both new and old friends, by our side and in our community. Through mutual compassion, in 2026 we aim to cultivate connections with the respect and care that they deserve, and through that, free ourselves and others to experience the world in all its true beauty as well.

I hope you’ll join our community in 2026! Do you have suggestions for how we can show compassion to one another or ideas for a new program?

In Solidarity,
Maggie Feinstein
Executive Director
10.27 Healing Partnership
