Jewish Professionals Processing Circle: Oct. 27th and the Trial
Processing Circle: Oct. 27th, synagogue shooting trial, and related concerns (July 14th and July 21st, 9am-11am)
Open to all JCC staff and all professionals at Jewish organizations
You are invited to attend either or both of these sessions
The synagogue shooting trial, as well as the news that accompanies it, can be frightening, retraumatizing, and difficult to hear about and experience. In this therapeutic group we will discuss our concerns and feelings around the trial and how it has impacted our lives, and we will learn practical tools to help balance our own emotions and minds. We will be supported by Kristy Weidner and Nicole Gemperle from the Village Center of Holistic Therapy who will be facilitating this group.
Nicole Gemperle graduated from Carlow University with an MS in Professional Counseling and has her LPC. She specializes in substance use treatment, trauma and PTSD, first responders, and working with the LGBTQIA + community. She has special training in co-occurring disorders, DBT and EMDR. She’s worked with adolescents, families, and couples.
Kristy Weidner completed her masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 with a focus on direct practice and received her credentials as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in 2008. She became a 200 hour certified yoga instructor in 2018 and a certified meditation teacher in 2019 and is a certified clinical trauma professional. Kristy utilizes a mindfulness based, holistic approach to counseling and wellness with individuals and groups.
